New Students Online Registration Instructions

Admission Procedure:

1. Please read this instruction, complete the online application form and upload your child’s recent digital photo to the online application system for admission registration.
2. After submitting application, parents shall receive the application confirmation through SMS. A non-refundable nor transferable application fee of HK$40 should be paid within 3 working days after submission, either by post or in person to the School Office.

Cheques should be crossed and made payable to “Hong Kong Christian Service Kwun Tong Nursery School” with child’s name and the date of birth written behind.

For cash payment, place the labeled envelop with child’s name and date of birth into the collection box outside school front door. (not to send cash by post)

3. After the payment of the application fee, parents will receive an acknowledgement of application with your unique application reference number. Please keep for further reference.
4. Deadline for Application: Applications must be sent online before 23 October 2024. There is no quota set for the application forms distributed or collected.
5.     If our school still has vacancy, our school will accept applications throughout the year. If you register on or before deadline, you will be arranged to attend the Freshmen Orientation on 26nd Oct 2023 Saturday  and the interview on 9 Nov 2024 or 16 Nov 2024(Provisional). If you register after 11th Oct 2024, you will be arranged for an interview within two months of registration.

Support Service for Non-Chinese Speaking Children

1. Arrangement for admission application of non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Children
   – When interviewing NCS children, interpretation and/or translation service for applicants will be provided where necessary; or parents and children are allowed to be accompanied by a Chinese speaking relative/friend to facilitate communication.

2. Support to non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Children
   -In order to support children’s learning, teachers will translate Chinese homework for non-Chinese speaking children into English so that parents can guide their children to complete homework at home.
   -The home-school newsletter has an English version to issue English notices to promote home-school communication.

 

Application Policy:

The admission system only recognizes appropriate age range for certain entry level. Please indicate with the enclosed policy.

Pre-Nursery (PN) : January – September 2023

Nursery Class (K1): January – December 2022

Lower Kindergarten Class (K2): January – December 2021

Upper Kindergarten Class (K3): January – December 2020

 

Details of Interview:

1. Date: 9 and 16 November, 2024 (Saturday) (Provisional)

• Remarks: – An informed email will be sent within three weeks before the interview
• Venue: 4/F, Kwun Tong Community Centre, 17 Tsui Ping Road, Kwun Tong, Hong Kong
• Group interview
• The admission interview will be conducted in Cantonese and English
• The whole interview process will last for around one hour.

2. Regarding to equal admission opportunities, all eligible applicants, which children who are age 2 or above before 1 September 2025, will be arranged for an interview. All absentees without prior notice, will regard as withdrawal.
3.     Admission Support for Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) Children

We arrange interpretation and/or translation service for applicants as necessary, or allow parents and children to be accompanied by a Chinese speaking relative/friend during the interview to facilitate communication.

 

Selection will be based on:

1. Child’s performance in the interview
2. Sibling(s) who are currently studying at school will be considerate in priority.
3. Graduate parent(s) or sibling(s) will be considerate in priority.
4. Needy families for full day services will be considerate in priority.

**Students who are currently studying pre-nursery class will be in priority to promotion.

 

Result announcement and Registration Procedure:

1. Notification of Application Result

Result will be informed by email before 6th of December, 2024

2.  For the all new application students, the upon receipt of notification of admission, parents must complete the registration procedures in person at the school during the “centralized registration period”, (which is from 2 Jan to 4 Jan) by submitting the “2024/25 Registration Certificate” and pay $1,500 for “registration fee”.

3.  Arrangement for Applicants on the waiting list

Our school will contact you by phone if there be any vacancy after the registration date.

4.  Arrangement for transferring

If you wish to change to another Kindergarten after the registration process is completed, please inform our school in writing upon your child’s withdrawal. Our school will contact you within one week after receiving your written request/notice, and return the Registration Certificate to you. Upon getting back the Registration Certificate, our school will no longer reserve the place for your child. Normally, the registration fee which your child has registered will not be refunded.

 

Notes:

Parents should check our school’s notices through email. For those who have enquiries, please inform our school before the Freshmen Orientation. If otherwise, your registration for admission will not be determined.
