Our school follows a diversified approach in teaching and learning. By organizing a wide range of cultural and artistic activities, we aim to nurture children’s aesthetic sensibilities and help them develop in a comprehensive and balanced way. In recent years, our school has been promoting Montessori education to develop children’s sense of discipline, hand-eye co-ordination, concentration and independence to help improve their living skills. In addition to being the initial organizer of the “Great Eagle Playright Play on Campus Playday” event, our school has also been organizing exchange programs with educators from Anji and Hangzhou in Mainland China, who are famous for promoting the idea of free play. We have also sent our staff members for study tours there.
Children are encouraged to learn how to solve problems, be flexible and creative, breakthrough challenges and build confidence through games. In 2020, our school was invited to participate in the CoolPlay Project’s Stage One Pilot Program co-organized by the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Yew Chung College of Early Childhood Education and IVE to promote the development of STEM education for local children.
In terms of environmental education, our school won awards under the “School Go Green” program which are Environmental Management, Parents’ Participation in Environmental Activities and Outstanding of Environmental Infrastructure. We have also collaborated with CLP Group, HKJCDPRI and IED for designing teaching kits. Our art teachers were awarded the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2011/2012 for our art program, which was a recognition to our achievements in building an exemplary learning community through the implementation of a comprehensive curriculum for early childhood art education.
